Post-construction treatment

Anti-termite treatment for a house that is already built

Post-construction anti-termite treatment protects a house that is already standing. Quality Pest Controls cleans the affected area, drills small holes along the line where the floor meets the walls, fills them with termiticide and seals them, then treats the door and window frames the termites have reached. The inspection at your home is free.

When does a house need anti-termite treatment?

A house needs treatment as soon as you see signs of termites, or when you buy or rent an older house and want it checked. Termites live in the soil and reach the wood through mud tubes, so the damage often shows only when a door frame sounds hollow or a cupboard starts to crumble. Read the 7 signs of termites to check your home.

How is the treatment done?

  1. Free inspection. We visit, find where the termites are getting in and show you what we found.
  2. Price before work. You get the price at the inspection. Nothing starts until you agree.
  3. Pre-cleaning. The area to be treated is cleaned first.
  4. Drilling the floor–wall line. Small holes are drilled along the line where the floor meets the walls, the gap termites use to come up from the soil.
  5. Termiticide. The holes are filled with termiticide, which reaches the soil under the floor.
  6. Sealing. The holes are sealed again.
  7. Frames. Door and window frames the termites have reached are treated too.

Is it safe for children and pets?

Termiticides are chemicals, so the technician tells you which rooms to keep children and pets out of, and for how long, for the product used in your house. Ask about it at the inspection.
